Mix Martial Arts Return to The Los Angeles Fitness Expo Featuring Two Full Days of the Best in MMA, January 24 & 25 at the Los Angeles Convention Center!

One of the many things I admire about Frank Trigg is his commentaries. Rather than deliver a flat analogy of each fight, he has the ability to mix humor with an easy-to-understand knowledge of the sport. I’d put him right up there with Bas Rutten, a favorite of mine when it comes to calling a fight. For newer female fans still learning the sport, it helps a lot.
And that’s what this article is about – the many ways that women view and appreciate the mixed martial arts in contrast to the male perception.

The paths of Chuck Liddell and Wanderlei Silva rarely crossed over their fighting careers, but their best chance to fight each other came on that cold Tokyo night four years ago had Liddell bested Rampage. At that point, Liddell knew he wanted to fight Silva and it’s been a fight on most minds of MMA fans. That hope was almost dashed again when Liddell was supposed to fight Silva “if” he could get by relative newcomer Keith Jardine. Losing by decision, the Zuffa brass gave it to Liddell anyway, since that would be a marquee event worthy of a New Years Eve extravaganza. Now the fans can rest easy: it’s gonna happen!

On February 4, 2006, Randy Couture announced his retirement from mixed martial arts after losing a rubber match to still-reigning light heavyweight champion Chuck Liddell. Since making his UFC debut back in May 1997, Couture has embodied a passion for competition against all odds. He has been the proverbial underdog on many occasions, UFC heavyweight champion, then UFC light heavyweight champion, all the time remaining humble and iconic in the eyes of his fans and foes.

The inaugural event promoted by Frank Shamrock and Epic Entertainment electrified the audience with former UFC heavyweight champion Ricco Rodriguez heading up the main event.
